University of Georgia football star Colbie Young was arrested Tuesday morning on charges of assault and battery on an unborn child.
This is evident from an incident report obtained by TMZYoung’s 20-year-old ex-girlfriend says she visited his apartment in Athens, Georgia around midnight to discuss their relationship.
The report says the conversation became heated after the ex-girlfriend heard Young was on the phone with another woman. The ex claims there was infidelity in the relationship.
The ex-girlfriend stated that during the altercation, Young “grabbed her left arm by her biceps and triceps and physically pulled her out of the room” – using derogatory terms towards her before locking himself in his bedroom.
Police say the woman told them she started grabbing his belongings and answering a call from a friend — prompting Young to come out of the room and grab her from behind, picking her up and slamming her “very hard.” squeezing her torso and stomach.

Young is being held on a $2,500 bond as requested by the responding police officer
The officer who responded to the scene noted bruising and discoloration on the lower right side of the woman’s chest where it met the abdomen, and redness on her right side.
The woman was transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
Afterwards, police contacted Young at his apartment – where the wide receiver initially said nothing had happened.
In further conversations, the 22-year-old admitted the two had discussed ending their relationship and that he escorted her to the front door when the argument intensified.
Police say Young denied grabbing her and said the injuries police saw did not come from him. Authorities noted that Young “was very secretive and gave very short, closed answers” when they spoke to him.
Young was arrested at 4:18 a.m. ET by Athens-Clark County Police and is being held on a $2,500 bond on the assault charge. Officer reportedly requested bail due to ‘[the victim] expressing some concern about past mental abuse, which has now escalated to alleged physical abuse. She also told me she was afraid of it [Young] and that he owns a firearm.”
In a statement to ESPN, the University of Georgia declined to comment. Young’s attorney, Kim Stephens, told ESPN that his client did not make physical contact with the alleged victim “in a manner that could ever be considered a crime.”
The lawyer added: “I expect Mr. Young to be fully exonerated once our investigation is complete and the truth is revealed.”

Young is a transfer from the University of Miami who began his career at Lackawanna College in Scranton, Pennsylvania.
He is currently the team’s fourth-leading receiver with eleven catches for 149 yards and two touchdowns through the first five games of the season.
This is yet another run-in with police for a member of the Georgia Bulldogs football program, where many players are arrested or given tickets, usually for driving-related violations.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, players on the team have been involved in more than 20 driving-related violations since mid-September, including drunk driving, reckless driving and speeding since the tragic death of offensive lineman Devin Willock. and recruiting staffer Chandler LeCroy in January 2023.
