Bethenny Frankel didn’t hesitate to share what she really thought of Kamala Harris’ appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast this week.
Presidential hopeful Harris spoke with podcast host Alex Cooper for a new episode in which they discussed multiple hot topics, including reproductive and women’s rights, as well as the upcoming election.
But some listeners condemned Cooper for doing the interview in the first place – criticizing the podcast host for “softball” questions and making the show political.
Now, Frankel throws her hat into the ring, as she recently took to TikTok to express her thoughts on the matter.
The 53-year-old Skinnygirl mogul prefaced the video by saying she thought the interview was a “great” move on Cooper’s part, and that she would have spoken to both candidates, so it’s not a “political commentary or association.”

The Skinnygirl mogul prefaced the video by saying that she thought the interview was a “great” move on Cooper’s part and that she would have spoken to both candidates, so it’s not a “political commentary or association.”
“Kamala did it, Trump didn’t,” Frankel said.
In a follow-up to the Harris episode, Cooper shared that she had also invited Trump on the podcast.
“Interesting because Trump did Theo Von and Logan Paul, and not this podcast, so we can’t have a double standard and say she shouldn’t do the cool kids podcast because he did the cool kids podcast,” Frankel said.
However, the former Real Housewives of New York star pointed out that this may not have been the best time for Harris to appear on the podcast, as many are suffering from Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton, which will soon make landfall. .
She also said wars are going on “all over the world” and people are losing their families as well as their homes.
“Right now, she did a specific podcast, you know, that kind of gives a little bit of a ‘Pick Me,’” Frankel admitted.
“And I think candidates overestimate the association with celebrity.”

Frankel admitted that she doesn’t believe Harris “blocked the landing” during Call Her Daddy’s performance
“It was Jay-Z, Beyoncé, the day before it was Kris Jenner, it was Katy Perry, it was Jon Bon Jovi on the bus, I think it turns people off because I think the average person who imagines it can’t afford to eat or have a family that has lost their home or have a family that is at war, they don’t care who celebrities hang out with or who votes with,” Frankel explained.
“I think Taylor Swift is making the choice to vote, which is great, but I actually think it’s counterproductive and it’s a deterrent to being associated with celebrities. I think it’s a turnoff for the general public and the average voter,” the star continued.
Frankel also commented on the fact that she believes Trump may have “humanized himself” by going on Call Her Daddy.
“Her humanity is beyond the point of yes, no one doubts that she is human, her humanity,” Frankel said of Harris.
“People are questioning her experiences and her foreign policy, and if we’re going to go to war, they’re not questioning her female reproductive rights, that’s not up for debate.”
Frankel admitted that she doesn’t believe Harris “blocked the landing” on the podcast.
“I think the timing of it was risky. This is not about a political association or who you vote for. This is about: Is it a good business marketing and messaging decision right now?” Frankel wondered.
She said Cooper did well during the interview, but said if she had been in Harris’ shoes, she wouldn’t have done it now.
In the comments section of Frankel’s post, many seemed to agree with her opinion, echoing the sentiment that it wasn’t the right time for Harris to appear on the program.
Finally, the Naturally Thin author noted that Call Her Daddy is a very “electric” and “charismatic” podcast, and that Harris didn’t necessarily bring that energy to the table here.
“I think in this environment it just didn’t seem that good,” Frankel said. “It seemed a little awkward, and it made her seem a little less cool than she actually is.”

In the comments section of Frankel’s post, many seemed to agree with her opinion, echoing the sentiment that it wasn’t the right time for Harris to appear on the program.

One TikTok user said: ‘Well said. Regardless of which candidate someone chooses. She is now a VP and was not allowed to be on a podcast during catastrophic disasters. That’s a failure on her part.”
Others, however, disagreed with Frankel’s views and considered the interview a great success.
“I respectfully disagree. Her response that she did not seek to be humble was one of the most important statements by a candidate in modern elections. It’s always the right time for that kind of honesty,” one user typed.
Another wrote, “I think Kamala was really cool in that format. She did a great job on that interview.”
