The 58-year-old Golden Globe winner looked almost unrecognizable as she strolled down the street and smoked a cigarette in the heart of the British capital, where she both directs and stars in The Girlfriend.
Wearing a cream-colored cable knit sweater paired with stylish faded jeans, Wright appeared engrossed in a phone conversation as she chatted animatedly as she walked down the sidewalk.
After finishing her cigarette, which she stubbed out on the ground, she slung a backpack over her shoulders and stood next to a row of bicycles.
Sean Penn’s former wife seemed to be enjoying the brief hiatus as her new Amazon Prime series, a highly anticipated adaptation of Michelle Frances’ novel The Girlfriend, continues to generate buzz.

Wright is joined in the cast by Olivia Cooke (House of the Dragon, Sound of Metal), Laurie Davidson (Mary and George) and Waleed Zuaiter (Gangs of London).
The official description for the series reads: “Laura (Wright) wants nothing. She has a brilliant career, a loving husband, Howard (Zuaiter), and most of all, she has Daniel (Davidson), her precious only son. But Laura’s seemingly perfect life falls apart when Daniel brings home Cherry (Cooke), the friend who changes everything.
‘After an awkward first meeting, Laura becomes convinced that Cherry is not who she says she is. Even though no one else can see what she sees, Laura refuses to watch Daniel being deceived. She will do anything to protect him. As things go from bad to deadly, the question is: is Cherry a manipulative social climber? Or is Laura paranoid and possessive?
