I live in Brisbane and think Australian men have the emotional range of a rock – why aren’t more of us talking about this?

A young Brisbane woman has taken issue with Australian men for having the ’emotional range of a rock’ – and thousands agree with her.

Anisa Nandaula, a 26-year-old comedian, ‘hit the nail on the head’ according to many women when she called out Australian men for being too ‘relaxed’.

“Their emotion spectrum is yes, no,” the comedian said in a video.

“Like, that’s the extent to which they’re able to express their feelings, why don’t we talk about this?”

And many agreed with Anisa’s ‘hilarious’ take on Aussie boys, saying the comparison gave them ‘too much credit’ and was an ‘insult to the rocks’.

“I watch dating shows in Australia as a form of self-harm,” said one.

“It’s tragic but we’re used to the b****** but now,” another added.

“It’s too depressing to talk about,” said a third.

She said the two emotional responses were “yes” and “no” and that most women quickly agreed with her

An Australian woman said that when she went looking for a shoulder to cry on after her mother’s death, her friend simply said, “Oh yeah, everyone dies one day.”

Another said the text message she received from her 30-year-old Australian ex-boyfriend after a friend of hers died still haunts her to this day.

“He texted me and said, ‘That’s sad, YOLO,’” she said.

Another added that her emotionally inexpressive husband, 40, was currently in therapy to learn the difference between yes and no.

Expats agreed that while they loved the country and the men, they felt Australian men lacked more emotional intelligence than men abroad.

“It’s the worst place in the world to find love,” said one.

An Australian man hit back, insisting his compatriots had emotional depth but only shared it with women they could trust.

Another man joked that the spectrum was more nuanced than just yes or no.

“There’s yes, nah yes, yes nah and nah,” he joked.

And one woman insisted that women wanting to date Australian men just had to be patient as she said they got better with age.

“But it’s a long wait,” she said.
