A taxi carrying Ian Hislop, star of Have I Got News For You, was reportedly hit by a suspected gunshot. The Private Eye editor was in the back of a black cab in Soho, central London, when a suspected bullet struck the vehicle’s rear window.

The incident occurred on Dean Street near Private Eye’s office shortly after 10am on Tuesday. Both Hislop and the taxi driver were unharmed. Police closed roads around the scene.

A source mentioned that police are considering various motives. The Metropolitan Police stated they received a report of a firearms discharge. They added that a London black taxi driver reported being stationary in traffic when a shot hit his vehicle’s window. No injuries were reported, and an investigation is underway.
