When the actor took the stage to accept the award from Disney CEO Bob Iger on August 11, he expressed his heartfelt gratitude to his fans.
“I love the life you’ve given me,” he told the audience, per Variety.
“I love the people I’ve had the privilege of working with. No one does anything for long in this business. We work together, no matter who we are or what we do.”
He sobbed as he added, “The stories are for you, about you, about us. It’s a privilege to work in that area.”
The remarkable event came after Calista Flockhart, Harrison’s wife of more than 21 years, revealed that the secret to their enduring relationship lies in the amount of laughter, which often comes from the pranks they play on each other.

In an interview with The New York TimesAlly McBeal’s alum admitted that the couple would playfully hide around corners of their home and use fake insects to scare each other.
She said she was quite good at surprising Ford and playfully referred to herself as ‘The Scare Monster’ at home.
“Because I’m hiding behind every corner,” she explained. “And then Harrison comes in, and I’m like, ‘Raaah!’ And he’s like, ‘W-uy-aah!’ And I’m laughing my head off.”
“I put a plastic spider in the big ice cubes in the tub, and he drinks it,” Flockhart added.
“But then I go to bed two weeks later, and he’s out of town in Jackson, and I pull the covers down and there’s this little rubber scorpion. It’s fun.”
The attractive couple first met at the 59th Golden Globe Awards in 2002 and soon started dating.
Harrison was 60 years old at the time and Calista was 38. So there was a significant age difference of 22 years between them.

His marriage to Mathison ended in divorce in 2004.
