Harry Kane has added another record to his long list of individual accolades as Bayern Munich beat Werder Bremen 5-0.

The England captain fired home Bayern’s third goal from the edge of the penalty area – his 41st in 36 league games for the club – after Michael Olise and Jamal Musiala had set the half-time score with two goals.

Former Crystal Palace striker Olise scored his second goal before Serge Gnabry completed the route.

Kane’s latest goal took his tally this season to 10 goals in just six games in all competitions.

It was also his 41st goal in the Bundesliga, making him the highest scoring Englishman in the German top division.

The former Tottenham Hotspur striker has overtaken Chelsea loanee Jadon Sancho, who scored 40 Bundesliga goals for Borussia Dortmund, including two last season.

Sancho managed to reach the score in 118 games, while Kane needed only 36.

Kane’s new record came just days after he became England’s highest-scoring player in the Champions League after scoring four goals in Bayern’s 9-2 win over Dinamo Zagreb.

The 31-year-old lived up to the high expectations that led him to join the German club from Tottenham for £100million last year.

Last weekend, he became the fastest player to score 50 goals in Bundesliga history, breaking the record previously held by Erling Haaland.

The victory over Werder Bremen ensured that Bayern, under the leadership of Vincent Kompany, made a winning start, scoring 16 goals in the first four games and conceding just three.

They will look to continue their good form when they host champions Bayer Leverkusen next week.
