Erica, who wore a long dress and cowboy boots to the wedding, picked up the gopher snake as it stood on the curb.

Once Erica grabbed the snake, she immediately started walking away shouting ‘come get the snake’.

Several people stared at the snake and one person said the reptile was “crazy,” while another said it “just wants to go away.”

In reality, gopher snakes are non-venomous creatures that are often mistaken for rattlesnakes.

According to the National Park ServiceGopher snakes are “not aggressive or harmful to humans,” but may hiss loudly or wag their tails when they feel threatened.

It’s unclear if the snake hissed, but it couldn’t have wagged its tail, which is how Erica picked up the creature.

The snake has partially inflated its body, something the species also does when they feel threatened by a human or predator.

An ideal habitat for a gopher snake is in grassland or wooded environments in the western US and they can be spotted hunting in bushy environments between fields.

Gopher snakes are ideally not the most common pets, but because they are not usually harmful to humans, they are an option for someone hoping to own a reptile.

Several TikTokers have praised Erica for her bravery, with one person even calling her “a keeper.”

TikTok users have praised Erica for her bravery and even called her “a keeper.” It is unclear whether she was the bride, despite commentators assuming this was the case

‘Imagine a snake that looks like a rattlesnake, but is not venomous and likes to be around people. That’s the Gopher snake,” one TikToker wrote.

Leos also responded to some comments and joked about what the snake did at the wedding.

“He said, I heard there’s an open bar lol,” she wrote last week.

She also wrote that her sister Erica “doesn’t give a s***” and that she is abnormal and not afraid of anything.
