Celebs Go Dating was back on the big screen on Monday night, with a whole new batch of stars looking for their true love.
But things took a turn for the worse for Helen Flanagan when she accidentally flirted with a gay man and called herself a “psychopath” to a potential date.
The series kicked off with a Bridgeton-inspired masquerade ball, with celebrities milling about the venue.
Actress Helen, 34, was joined by Jamelia, Gogglebox’s Stephen Webb, MAFS UK’s Ella Morgan, Love Island’s Chris Taylor, MIC star Tristan Phipps and Lauryn Goodman.
She’s struggling to get back into dating after her split from her ex Scott Sinclair, the father of her three children.

But things didn’t go so smoothly for Helen Flanagan when she accidentally flirted with a gay man and called herself a “psycho bitch” to a potential date
Her interactions with the singles started off a bit rocky, as the masks gave off her ‘gaydar’ and she chronically overshared.
After talking to the gay man, Helen giggled at her misstep and walked over to another single man, though that didn’t quite go to plan either.
Jumping straight into the conversation by talking about her ex, she later added, “I can be sweet. It depends on the time of the month, I’m either sweet or a psycho b****.”
“Well, I hope it hasn’t gotten to that point yet…” the masked stranger joked uncomfortably.
She went to another one and then said, “It’s really hot, isn’t it? I feel like I have sweaty breasts!”
While discussing Helen’s conversations, the experts came to the following conclusion: ‘Oh no, there she goes again. Do you think this is her way of distracting herself?’
“Maybe she’s trying to make them laugh…or is it her way of saying you don’t stand a chance?” they wondered.
At the end of the meeting, Helen decided to go on a date with sports massage therapist Luke, after their ‘flirty chat and flowing conversation’.

Luckily, it didn’t seem like he was deterred by the soap star telling her story and he agreed to go on a date with her.
However, a shocking twist was later taken when it turned out that Ella had also chosen Luke, meaning he had to choose between the girls.
Helen has been single for two years since splitting from her footballer fiancé Scott. They have been together for 13 years and have daughters Matilda, nine, and Delilah, six, and a son Charlie, three.
This week she announced that she is looking for an ‘older man’ because they are ‘more emotionally mature’.
Reveal to The Mirror Now, as for what she looks for in a man, Helen says, “I like older men because I feel like they’re more emotionally mature, a little bit more sensitive.”
‘When I go on a date, I prefer to do it with someone who has perhaps gone through a divorce and has children. Then I feel like he or she understands me better.’
“I like funny guys, I think good energy is important. The MILF needs a dilf!”
Despite her past heartbreak, Helen admitted she is still an old romantic at heart, saying she still wants to “get married someday.”
This came after Helen broke down in tears as she spoke about her split from ex-partner Scott on Thursday’s Loose Women.
The actress appeared on the show alongside her former co-stars Sally Dynevor and Sue Cleaver, and presenters Kaye Adams and Denise Welch.
When asked if she believes in a ‘happily ever after’, Helen said: ‘I was with my ex Scott since I was 19 and he was like my world. I always thought we would be together. Always.’
Denise said the following about her mental health: ‘I know you’ve had a really hard time. Can you talk us through it? You’ve had a breakdown, a real psychotic breakdown.’
It comes after Helen broke down in tears as she spoke about her split from ex Scott on Loose Women on Thursday.
Helen, who played Sally’s daughter Rosie Webster in the ITV soap, fought back tears and grabbed Sally’s hand for support. She replied: ‘Gosh, I didn’t think I’d be so emotional today!’
‘I didn’t really want to talk about it, but I did because I was going on a six-month theater tour. That’s why I talked about it.’
Helen said of her signing up for Celebs Go Dating: ‘I loved it, so much fun. I think you just have to be open-minded and it was a great way to spend the summer.’
“But I think it will take a very special person to introduce them to my children.”
