The Princess of Wales will travel to Balmoral with the royal family this month for what will be her longest trip since she was diagnosed with cancer, The Mail on Sunday can report.

Prince William and Kate have moved to the 50,000-acre estate in the Scottish Highlands every summer since their wedding in 2011. However, some insiders feared that this year could be different due to the princess’s health.

Since announcing in March that she would undergo preventive chemotherapy, Kate has been dividing her time mainly between Adelaide Cottage, their home in Windsor, and Anmer Hall, their holiday home in Norfolk, which are about 200 kilometres apart.

The 42-year-old princess also travelled the short distance to London in June for Trooping the Colour and to Wimbledon in July for the men’s singles final. Both tournaments are an hour’s drive from Windsor.

Sources have confirmed to The Mail on Sunday that Kate will travel north of the Border with her husband and their three children this summer.

Her presence will be seen by many as further confirmation that the princess is making “good progress” following her diagnosis.

In June, she told the public in an emotional message that she was “not out of the woods yet” and that she had “good days and bad days,” adding that her treatment would last “a few more months.”

She said that on her good days it was “a joy” to “spend personal time doing the things that give her energy and positivity.”

The annual party at Balmoral is a tradition for the Royal Family, where they can relax in the peaceful countryside.

Long walks and fishing are typical pastimes, with William and Kate enjoying cycling through the green surroundings. Kensington Palace declined to comment.
