Today viewers were shocked on Thursday morning when Sarah Abo complained live on air about her co-host Karl Stefanovic’s bad breath.
Sarah, 38, and Karl, 49, who are both in France to cover the Paris Olympics, were on television talking about the Games when Sarah revealed that Karl’s breath had become foul-smelling due to a change in his diet.
“I don’t know if we want to smell what happened in Paris. Karl, have you had snails for lunch again? There’s a lot of garlic in them,” Sarah snapped at her co-star.
Karl apologized and admitted that he had changed his diet since arriving in Paris.
“Sorry, I had a lot of garlic. You can’t help it when you’re in Paris… Snails, frogs’ legs!” he joked.
“People will be angry with me, but Sarah will have to live with it.”
Sarah then joked that she was “lucky” that she loved him and could tolerate the smell.
Karl has shared on social media some of the changes he has made to his diet since arriving in Paris, including eating expensive caviar and spreading Vegemite on a French baguette.

Many of his followers were quick to respond in the comments and began criticizing him for his unique diet.
‘No, not Vegemite on a baguette! Lol, you’re such a Parisian,’ one fan joked, with a second person adding: ‘Vegemite is a NO NO in Europe mate.’
Following reports, Karl is said to have been making sure his wife Jasmine is enjoying the best that Paris has to offer, as the Today show host is in France covering the Nine Olympic Games.

On Sunday, the couple went to the exclusive Girafe Restaurant, which you can enter with a Game Pass.
Jasmine beamed alongside Karl in a photo she shared on Instagram, with the Eiffel Tower in the background.
“La Girafe with you. Thank you @channel9 for a lovely dinner,” she wrote in the caption, indicating that the pair had dined out at the network’s expense.
At this expensive eatery, you can get caviar for as much as €650 (AUD$1,075), while main courses cost between $60 and $70.
The restaurant serves gourmet fish dishes in a luxurious restaurant with a terrace and a view of the Eiffel Tower.
