    A child in a stroller and an adult have been killed at a train station.

    The pram fell onto the tracks as the 40-year-old man tried to rescue the two-year-old boy at Carlton train station, in Sydney’s south, at 12.25pm ​​on Sunday afternoon.

    The train then started moving. The two died on the spot.

    Another two-year-old boy had been in the stroller, but he was not injured. A 39-year-old woman in the group was also not injured.

    NSW Police have urged the public to avoid the area.

    “Emergency services are at the scene of an incident on the tracks at Carlton train station,” a statement on X said.

    ‘The public is urged to avoid the area. Investigations are ongoing.’

    There are no trains running between Wolli Creek and Hurstville on the T4 Eastern Suburbs and Illawarra Line.

    “We are arranging replacement buses but there are currently no buses available,” Sydney Trains reported on X at 1pm.
