Two alleged drunk Russian women crashed their car into a Thai woman’s vehicle on a road in Phuket and physically assaulted the victim to stop them from fleeing the scene.

A Thai woman filed a complaint at Choeng Thale Police Station at around 8pm, yesterday, June 23, after the accident. The woman explained that her car was hit in the rear, so she got out to speak with the driver of the other car. However, the other party refused to get out of their vehicle.

The Thai woman talked to the other party from outside their car, asking them to get out to discuss the cause of the accident. Two foreign women, later identified as Russian nationals, finally got out of the vehicle. They pointed out that the victim’s car did not appear to have any damage and attempted to leave the scene.

The Thai woman explained that the two Russian women appeared to be drunk and refused to communicate with her. They complained to her in Russian and tried to return to their car to escape from the scene.

The victim decided to grab the Russians’ car key to prevent them from escaping. This action angered the foreigners and led to a physical attack.

The Thai woman disclosed that the Russian woman in a blue shirt strangled her and attacked her to get the car key. The other Russian woman helped her friend to get the key, but they still failed. Luckily, another motorist came to her aid and separated the Russian women from the victim.

The Thai woman called the police to the scene, prompting the two Russian nationals to abandon their car. They disappeared into a nearby restaurant but the restaurant workers refused to cooperate with the victim.

According to the woman, she checked the registration plate of the car and found that it was a rental car from a Russian-owned rental shop in the Rawai area of Phuket.

The victim demanded that the police arrest the women as quickly as possible, as their behaviour could set a bad example for other foreign tourists who come to travel in Thailand.
