Former Liverpool striker Peter Crouch revealed that Reds goalkeeper Alisson had to tell the Anfield crowd to ‘calm down’ as a nervous atmosphere developed.
Liverpool took the lead in the eleventh minute thanks to Alexis Mac Allister, who timed his run perfectly and turned in Mohamed Salah’s cross.
However, Arne Slot’s team slowly lost control of the match, as Bologna had more success in the future.
The Serie A side even hit the woodwork through Dan Ndoye in the 30th minute as Dominik Szoboszlai failed to clear his lines.
With Bologna coming agonizingly close to an equalizer, the atmosphere at Anfield became quite tense.

But Alisson, often a calm presence at the back, wanted the fans to calm down.
Speaking to TNT Sports, Crouch revealed the Liverpool goalkeeper’s action and discussed where things started to go wrong at the host club.
“Liverpool were in complete control and they (Bolonga) just got back into it,” Crouch said.
‘It’s actually a bit of shooting yourself in the foot. They play from behind and get caught with it. Bologna gets chance after chance.
“Alisson has just told the crowd to calm down because you can feel it getting a bit nervous at Anfield. There is a bit of history in what happened with Atalanta. Liverpool must regain control.”
Crouch’s reference to Atalanta was when Liverpool dominated possession against the Italian side in the first leg of the Europa League quarter-final last season but had nothing to show for it.
Atalanta proved ruthless on the counter-attack and eventually won 3-0 at Anfield.
Liverpool won the second leg 1-0, but that was not enough to avoid elimination.
