Love Is Blind season 7 contestant Garrett Josemans has angered viewers after labeling love interest Taylor Krause as “calculated” for keeping her ethnicity a secret while the couple dated in the pods – with many stating that he missed the point ‘ of the show completely.
In episode two of the recently released Netflix show, the 33-year-old quantum physicist was surprised when his date said she didn’t want to share her mother’s name because it “gives away part of what I look like.”
Garrett then revealed that he had only dated white women and that he feared that 30-year-old clean energy policy advisor Taylor was hiding other facets of himself.
“Your ethnicity?” he said. “That thought had never occurred to me in any way. Interesting.’

He also addressed whether Taylor “curated” a “carefully curated image” of himself.
Taylor admitted it was “hard hearing” Garrett say she was “calculated.”
She said: ‘The reason I didn’t want to share my ethnicity was because there was a chance that someone wouldn’t know what I looked like at all.
“I’m just really curious if my emotional intellectual thought processes are enough, and if everything else is extra.”
Viewers criticized Garrett’s approach to the topic of ethnicity, with some reminding him that the entire premise of the show is about dating sight unseen.

Taylor doubled down on her decision to withhold her ethnicity out of respect for the experiment.
