    Garth Brooks fought back against a newly filed lawsuit accusing him of sexual assault and battery during a livestream with his fans on Monday.

    The 62-year-old country music icon addressed “the elephant in the room” during TalkShopLive’s Inside Studio G chat, according to Taste of the country.

    “A lot has happened in the last two weeks,” he said, referring to the allegations made against him.

    “This thing is happening, it’s going to happen, and people are telling me it could take up to two years. OK?’ he continued, seemingly referring to the upcoming legal battle.

    Brooks is accused by an anonymous ‘Jane Doe’ of raping her during a business trip, which he previously denied in a statement.
