The final season of Married At First Sight has already been full of drama, but it’s not just the on-screen acts that are causing a stir.
Ny Breaking Australia can reveal that producers have imposed a strict new curfew on the 2025 cast after several contestants were branded “disrespectful” and “selfish” for disappearing during filming.
This decision follows an incident where a couple disappeared in the middle of filming, causing chaos among the production team.
The cast were initially subject to a curfew of 10pm on weeknights and 11pm on weekends, but now even stricter rules apply.
According to a leaked email from the production team to the cast, the new curfews have been brought forward to 8pm on Friday and Sunday, and 9pm on Saturday.
The change came after the couple ignored curfew, lost contact with production, and failed to return to their apartments on Saturday night.
An insider claimed that the cast members have limited access to the hotel where they are staying.
‘Their keys stop working after a certain time, so they have to notify the home AP [Associate Producer] “To let them in, otherwise they’re stuck outside,” the insider explained.

“It’s a way to keep the cast functioning and prevent them from just walking in and out.”
The production’s email expresses frustration and disappointment over the participants’ actions.
It reads: ‘Unfortunately, two contestants decided last weekend to cut off all communication with production on Saturday night and would not return to their apartments before curfew – let alone at all.’

The post details how this ‘selfish decision’ impacted more than 15 crew members on Saturday night and into the early hours of Sunday morning, with Nine Network being notified of the breach.
The curfew is not only a measure to keep things under control, but also an essential part of adhering to the production schedule and ensuring the safety of all participants.
The production staff must keep a close eye on the cast to prevent unforeseen incidents and effectively tell the show’s story.

According to an email sent to the cast by the production team, the new curfew times have been moved to 8 p.m. on Friday and Sunday, and 9 p.m. on Saturday.
This level of control helps prevent off-camera drama that could disrupt the storyline or lead to negative publicity.
“This production’s guidelines to ensure the safety of all participants while in our care have been completely ignored and there has been a complete lack of respect for my crew and their weekend. As such, the changes below must be made,” the email read.
The message also stressed that the participants involved had not expressed any remorse: “At this point, my team has not received an apology, let alone any form of remorse, which is frankly disappointing.”

The new curfew is a clear signal to the cast that they must adhere to the guidelines they have agreed to. The emphasis is on mutual respect between the participants and the production staff.

The rest of the cast were understandably unimpressed with the new restrictions, telling Ny Breaking Australia they thought it was “complete nonsense” and “not fair.”
