London man arrested over Ibiza hotel balcony death

A London man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of Robyn Eve Maines, who is believed to have fallen from a hotel balcony in Ibiza. Maines, 24, from Wallasey in Wirral, was found dead on 25 September 2022 at around 8.30am at the Hotel Rosamar in Calle Huelva, San Antonio. Her family is appealing for witnesses two years after the incident.

Maines, employed at a law firm in Liverpool, died in circumstances currently being treated as “unexplained” by Merseyside Police, who have taken over the investigation from Spanish authorities. A 27-year-old man from London, arrested on suspicion of murder, has been interviewed and released on bail pending further enquiries.

Detective Inspector Phil Ryan stated that the Spanish authorities have concluded their inquiries and Merseyside Police are continuing the investigation. He called on witnesses who may have been at the hotel in September 2022 to come forward, particularly those who might have seen or heard anything relevant.

Maines’ family expressed their devastation and their desire for justice, urging anyone with information to contact the police.
