Former President Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law has often forays into singing that were met with harsh criticism, especially from liberals.
The outrage reached new levels after she released “Hero” on Monday, a collaboration with songwriter Madeline Jaymes that pays tribute to firefighters and first responders.
On social media, Trump was ridiculed by liberals and anti-Trump Republicans, with Lincoln Project co-founder Rick Wilson saying she sounded “like a wild boar and a bag of rusty cans being thrown into an industrial wood chipper.”
The song’s lyrics seem to mock social media’s claim to fame, with Lara Trump singing: “It takes a lot to put yourself last and everybody else first. No, you can’t do this for likes. They can turn your heart into gold.”

One social media user wrote: ‘She is VERY auto-tuned but it’s still obvious she’s an attention whore with no talent.’
“What have our eardrums done to deserve this?” asked another.
Both Trump and Jaymes were criticized by one poster, who wrote: “Watching Lara Trump and Madeline Jaymes’ Hero music video is like witnessing two AI clones being thrown down a flight of stairs, desperately trying to find harmony on the way down.”
Actor and That Thing You Do star Ethan Embry added: “It’s not fair to criticize Lara Trump’s new song if you haven’t prepared yourself for the pain of not only listening to the computerized tone of her voice, but also watching her lip-sync on the piano and suffering through the poetry of her ghostwritten lyrics.”
Another X user mockingly compared her to people like Yoko Ono, Sanjaya, ‘crying babies and a pack of feral dogs’.
The RNC chairwoman, who is married to Eric Trump, released her first original single in April, calling it, “Something I’ve been having fun with all winter (and a few more I’m saving for a later date, especially for my HUGE fans in the liberal media).”
The ballad is available on multiple platforms, including Spotify, iTunes and YouTube, and contains lyrics such as ‘You can’t give up, know that everything is possible’ and ‘I’ve had my ups and downs, cry when no one’s around, still I got to show my game face on, even when I’m not feeling strong.’
Last September, the 41-year-old Trump released a cover and acoustic version of Tom Petty’s 1989 song “I Won’t Back Down.”
The former president’s daughter-in-law and current co-chair of the Republican National Committee has faced harsh criticism in the past, especially from liberals, for her foray into singing.
Trump accused Apple Music at the time of blocking her during the release of her song, claiming the company had “discriminated” against her by refusing to run an ad featuring “Trump’s” name.
The former TV producer said that shortly after the song was released last September, she received a lot of messages from people telling her they couldn’t find the song online.
Lara also claimed she paid for a billboard in New York City’s Times Square to promote the new song through media company Clear Channel.
However, she said the agency told her just hours before the series was set to go live that they would not air the series under her full name because “the Trump name is a problem,” calling it “discriminatory” and “offensive.”
Both versions of “I Won’t Back Down” and her new single “Anything is Possible” currently appear when you search for Lara Trump on iTunes. They also appear in the list when you search for the song titles.
Trump’s first original song is getting mixed reviews online.
One X user praised it as a “beautiful song,” while another called it “Really amazing.”
Others, however, were not so enthusiastic about the new content.

One user wrote: ‘Are you threatening to sing until we donate?’ While another suggested she should focus on winning the election.
Speaking to DailyMail.com about her new music career, Lara stressed that she ‘doesn’t want to be a professional singer’ but just wants to share her ‘love for music’.
“I love music, I’ve been playing the piano all my life and my children love listening to me play the piano,” Lara enthused.
‘I like to play music that you can sing along to. But I’m not trying to be a professional singer.
“There are so many professional singers with so much talent, and I don’t consider myself one of them.”
On how the recording came about, she added: ‘I posted a few videos of myself on Instagram playing the piano and these guys reached out to me and asked if I wanted to play piano on a track.
“Then they said, ‘Wait, you don’t sing?’ And I said, ‘Yeah, in the car or at karaoke.’
“I don’t have any big ambitions to be a singer, but this just seemed like so much fun, I mean what a cool experience. And it’s a great song, Tom Petty did an incredible job on it.

In 2020, Donald received a letter from the family of the late musician Tom, who died in 2017 at the age of 66 from an accidental drug overdose, asking him to stop performing. This happened after I Won’t Back Down was played at one of his rallies in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
