Days Of Our Lives star Drake Hogestyn has died of pancreatic cancer the day before his 71st birthday.
The soap actor’s death was announced on Saturday evening via the show’s social media account.
“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Drake Hogestyn.” the statement said. ‘
He was hit with the curve ball of his life when he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, but he rose to the challenge with incredible strength and determination.

‘After an incredible battle, he passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones.’
Hogestyn, who played John Black on the show, was also remembered as “the most wonderful husband, father, dad and actor.”
