Simone Biles missed out on her fourth gold medal in Paris on Monday after the American athlete fell to the ground during the balance beam final.

Biles, who has won team, all-around and vault titles in the French capital, was forced to step off the beam after losing her balance midway through her routine.

Her compatriot Suni Lee was also sad, as her hopes of a medal were dashed when she also fell off the apparatus during her routine.

It took Biles forever to reach her score, but when she finally did, her total of 13.100 wasn’t enough to finish in the top three.

Italy’s Alice D’Amato and Manila Esposito won gold and bronze respectively, while China’s Zhou Yaqin won silver.
