There have been a number of adaptations of the Legend of Zelda series, including an upcoming live-action film with Sony Pictures. For our money, one of the most compelling retellings is the long-running manga series from artists A. Honda and S. Nagano, who collectively go by the pen name Akira Himekawa. Right now, you can pick up their first 10 volumes at The Legend of Zelda Complete Box Set for more than half off — only $48.17 (was $104.99). Legendary Edition Boxset is also on sale for $78.99 (was $125).

The best part? You get actual Link dialogue — and he’s quite eloquent too!

Both sets contain the same stories but in different packaging, with the Legendary Edition collecting the works into five books. I honestly prefer the Legendary Box Set, because it comes in a treasure chest and I can hum a tune every time I open it, pulling the book high above my head in a triumphant pose as my dog looks sideways at me.

The first 10 volumes of Akira Himekawa are an adaptation of the greatest stories from Zelda A link to the past forward:

    • Ocarina of Time (Part 1 & 2)
    • Majora’s Mask
    • Oracle of the seasons
    • Oracle of the Ages
    • Four Swords (Part 1 & 2)
    • The Minish Cap
    • A link to the past
    • Phantom hourglass

These aren’t the only Zelda books currently available for purchase, however. There are a trio of hardcover compendiums for those who want to revisit the entire lore of the series. The Legend of Zelda Encyclopedia is $25.52 (was $39.99) and offers an extensive, illustrated look at the series, from the original NES title to Twilight Princess and includes an official Zelda timeline up to that point, which is nothing if not intricate. Other hardcover Zelda reference books for sale include The Legend of Zelda: Art & Artifacts for $23.77 (was $49.99) and The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule History for $23.60 (was $39.99), which is also a Heavenward Sword prequel manga by Akira Himekawa.
