Police release CCTV images after far-right violence across

Police forces have released CCTV images to identify individuals linked to recent far-right violence. Merseyside Police shared pictures of 14 individuals, while South Yorkshire Police released 21 images in connection with violent disorder outside the Holiday Inn Express in Rotherham on Sunday. The hotel has been housing asylum seekers.

Violence began in Southport last Tuesday after the fatal stabbings of three girls at a Taylor Swift-themed holiday club. The unrest spread to various UK towns and cities, resulting in injuries to police officers, and significant damage to police vehicles, homes, businesses, and a library that was set on fire.

Detective Superintendent Paul Speight of Merseyside Police stressed the importance of these individuals coming forward to assist ongoing investigations. He noted that they are still processing incoming information, images, and footage, and are committed to arresting, charging, and bringing identified individuals before the courts.

Despite claims of victory against rioters from some political leaders, intelligence suggests further protests are planned in the coming days, according to the policing minister. Many of the men in the released images are wearing face coverings, though some faces are visible.
