Oasis and The Who drummer Zak Starkey ‘banned from house by Airbnb after planning rockstar filled party’

Oasis and The Who drummer Zak Starkey has reportedly been banned from his home by Airbnb after planning a rockstar-studded party for his wife's 40th birthday

Oasis and The Who drummer Zak Starkey has been banned from an Airbnb in Buckinghamshire after accidentally mentioning he was planning a party, according to reports.

The musician, son of Beatles star Ringo Starr, had hoped to rent a six-bed apartment in the Chilterns to celebrate his wife Sharna Liguz’s 40th birthday.

But it seems that Zak’s rock star reputation got the better of him this time. When cleaners found out he was hosting a party, Airbnb canceled his booking.

Zak, 58, went to explore the house and tour the luxurious property before his stay. He told the cleaners about his plans for the party, which had a star-studded guest list including Liam Gallagher and The Smiths stars Johnny Marr.

Zak told The Mirror: ‘The Airbnb hosts cancelled after Googling me and seeing Oasis and The Who – the two worst behaved bands in rock ‘n’ roll history. It would look great on a T-shirt.’

However, Airbnb hosts have reportedly insisted that the reason for canceling his booking was not so dramatic.

They explained to the publication: ‘Zak booked our last week rented a house through Airbnb, say it would be a three day event children’s outing for his My wife’s 40th birthday.

‘He then said that it was very important to view the property beforehand, so he even came while the property was being cleaned.

‘Based on the conversation he had with the cleaners, it was clear he was planning on having a party, which unfortunately is not allowed under Airbnb’s rules. Airbnb subsequently cancelled his booking.’

Zak and his wife are disappointed that they can’t stay home, but at the last minute they were able to find a new location for the party.

Zak said Sharna was ‘absolutely disappointed’ that she couldn’t stay at the Airbnb in Cadmore End, Bucks, but that they found a new location at the last minute.

MailOnline has contacted Zak’s representatives for comment.

Zak is the first-born child of Beatles drummer Ringo, real name Richard Starkey, and his first wife, Maureen Cox.

However, the Airbnb hosts have reportedly maintained that the reason they cancelled his booking was not that dramatic and that the booking was cancelled because they have a no-party policy.

He has been the permanent drummer for The Who since 1996, since their Quadrophenia Tour. After the departure of Alan White, he joined Oasis in 2004.

Zak and Sharna, also known as Sshh, got married in 2022 for the rock stars at the legendary Sunset Marquis in West Hollywood.

The lovebirds, who chose their 12-month-old daughter Luna Lee Lightnin’s birth date to wed, were raffled off by Ringo, 84, and Sharna’s father Andrzej Ligu.

Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder and Johnny Marr were Zak’s witnesses, but the former Smiths rocker was unable to attend in person and appeared via video call on a tablet.

Reggae star Pato Banton officiated at the ceremony, the first of two, after which the couple later celebrated their nuptials in Jamaica and the United Kingdom.
