MyKayla Skinner’s husband called the former gymnast the “strongest person” after she begged Team USA superstar Simone Biles to end their feud.
Jonas Harmer joined the conversation after his wife acknowledged her now-deleted comments criticizing the U.S. gymnastics team, which won gold at the 2024 Olympics.
“Proud of you for apologizing when you did, for keeping your mouth shut when you did, and for standing up for yourself now,” Harmer wrote in the comments on Skinner’s Instagram post on Tuesday.
“You are the strongest person I know!” he added.
Harmer married the 2020 Olympic silver medalist in 2019 and the couple welcomed their daughter in September 2023.

In the social media post, Skinner pleaded with Biles, her former teammate, to ask her followers to stop sending her death threats.
“I honestly hoped this topic wouldn’t come up again but unfortunately it’s gotten really out of hand lately,” a visibly emotional Skinner wrote on Instagram.
“I’m here because I made a comment four weeks ago about work ethic and what seems to be going on with the rising generation,” she continued.
“To be absolutely clear, I take 100 percent credit for poorly articulating the point I was trying to make. The last thing I wanted to do was cause harm or insult our U.S. Olympic team.”
In her original video, she dragged Biles’ teammates Jordan Chiles, Jade Carey, Suni Lee and Healy Rivera along.
“Besides Simone, I feel like the talent and depth aren’t what they used to be,” the 27-year-old said on YouTube.
Skinner has since asked Biles to tell online trolls to stop after he received death threats

She later clarified: ‘I know these women are incredible – the very best of the best. And almost all of them are my former teammates, who I have had the pleasure of cheering on over the years.’
She continued: ‘I posted a video apology on Instagram and I followed that up with a written apology and I sent individual messages to each of the women on the team. Only Simone responded and she told me she was proud of me.’
However, the feud reached a fever pitch after the team’s gold medal-winning performance last week.
Biles posted a photo of the team after they finished first, with the caption: “lack of talent, lazy, olympic champions.”
She even reiterated her decision to hold Skinner accountable.
“It’s important because you have to teach them to use their voice,” Biles told People, referring to her younger teammates. “And if they don’t, you’re a voice for the voiceless, and that’s okay.”
She continued: ‘I felt at that moment that it was the right thing to stand up for them because they are so young and not yet in their full power.’
