My Mum, Your Dad is set to return to the big screen for a second season this fall, and it looks set to be an emotional series.

This middle-aged dating series puts a new spin on the traditional dating show, with single parents looking for love with the help of their adult children. There are also some exciting new twists in the series.

And in the first trailer for the ITV show, several actors burst into tears as they watch a particularly touching moment between two parents.

Meanwhile, things look set to get pretty steamy as two parents engage in a hot kiss in the bedroom – much to the horror of their adult children.

With presenter Davina McCall, 56, back at the helm, she welcomes the parents’ children to the country retreat, where she explains it’s up to them who dates who.

And as the dates begin, things take an emotional turn as mother Jenny bursts into tears as she relives her relationship past, telling her friend, “I’m used to being disappointed, that’s all.”

The confession prompts a moving reaction from her son Malachi, who struggles to hold back tears as he is comforted by his peers.

Jenny said ahead of the show that this could be her last chance at love: ‘I’ve tried everything. If I hadn’t been able to watch My Mum, Your Dad, there would literally be nothing left.’

The trailer also shows one of the mothers in tears as she hugs another parent tightly.

But the series isn’t all about touching moments, as two of the bachelors also become very close.

The clip features two people wearing cowboy hats kissing passionately, their silhouettes moving in unison.

Their adult children are clearly stunned by what they are seeing. One looks away from the screen, while the other drops his jaw in shock.

Then someone from the group shouts: ‘I didn’t see that coming!’

While the parents were hoping for a second chance at love, they opened up about what they were looking for ahead of the show.

Vicky, whose daughter Angharad will watch her adventures, shared: ‘I haven’t had any luck finding anyone myself. When there’s a room full of people, I always tend to go for that one person I shouldn’t have!’

While Danny, on the show with son Ellis, said: ‘I’m hoping to meet someone who likes me. I don’t have to tick any boxes. I’m just looking for someone who likes me back.’
