Dramatic footage captures the moment a California liquor store clerk pulled a gun and surrounded a wild crowd.

The incident happened just after 4:15 p.m. Saturday outside Golden Hours Liquor at 3200 International Boulevard, Oakland police told DailyMail.com.

The unidentified employee did not appear to have fired any shots, but police said they were at the scene to investigate a “ShotSpotter activation” — a security technology that detects gunfire.

Officers “found evidence of a shooting,” but no one sustained gunshot wounds, police said. No arrests were made.

The violent moment began when the worker, dressed in a black T-shirt, with long dark hair and tattoos on his arm, got into a conversation with a young man in a red hoodie who later punched him in the face.

The worker’s hat flew off his head when another young man hit him several times.

The employee quickly shuffled into the store, followed by a large group of motorcyclists.

He grabbed a gun as the crowd ran out of the store screaming.

The store clerk led the crowd outside, turned and pointed the gun at those present.

He then brandished the firearm as the crowd quickly grabbed their bikes and fled in panic.

While some escaped, others remained near the store as the employee ran around with the gun still in his hand and shouted at them.

At one point, he walked up to a man in a gray hoodie and pushed him to the sidewalk.

The worker continued to shout and appeared to put the weapon away as more people left the area.

He then walked to the front of the liquor store, grabbed his hat and shouted at a man wearing jeans, a face mask and a black hoodie.

Another man, dressed in a white T-shirt and black pants, stepped between the two and appeared to try to calm the heated argument.

A separate video posted to X showed another angle of the heated exchange just before the employee pulled out a gun.

A man in a red hat said to the employee, “I’m not shoplifting, this is a kid shoplifting, and you handled it.”

“But you’re threatening three assholes,” he added.

“I’m not threatening anyone, I said, ‘Get lost,’” the employee replied.

The young man in the red sweater then asked him, “Why are you pulling guns on kids, buddy?”

“Did you see me pull out my gun?” the employee asked as he moved closer to the young man.

It is unclear what exactly caused the violent confrontation.
