A home guru also surprised Australians with a trick that could transform a dirty oven with just one ingredient.

The person behind Grandma’s Tricks and Tips Preheat the oven to 100°C and then place a dishwasher tablet in a baking tray or heatproof dish.

Then they pour boiling water over the tablet until it is submerged and put the dish in the oven. Then they close the door.

The mixture should bubble for an hour, so that the tablet can dissolve properly. In the meantime, the steam gently softens the dirt.

After sixty minutes, simply turn the oven off and open the door to let the oven cool down. Then wipe the inside with a damp cloth or sponge. Your oven will be spotless and smelling fresh again.

People were amazed at the results and wanted to try the one-ingredient trick themselves in their dirty ovens.

‘I use dishwashing tablets to soak my baking tins, I’m amazed at how they come out looking brand new every time. I’m definitely going to try this in the oven,’ said one woman.
