When you see the shark girl Ellen Joe on the street after you unlock the trust feature with her, she will want to chat with you – but only certain answers will boost your relationship with her Zenless Zone Zero.
As you gain more confidence, you’ll get Polychromes, materials to improve your skills, some bonuses in Hollows, and most importantly, the ability to set that character as your background on the menu screen.
Below you will find the best answers to choose from when talking to Ellen about her trust events and trust invitations.
Ellen Joe Trusts Events Best Answers in Zenless Zone Zero
If you see Ellen’s portrait on the navigation screen, it means that she is waiting nearby for a potential trust event. Approaching her and talking to her while she has gray ellipses above her head will earn you some trust, but you have to be careful: if you answer with the wrong answers, you could decrease your trust.
Below we list Ellen’s possible locations and the best answers to answer to gain trust. Please note that not every prompt will inspire trust, even if you choose a seemingly favorite answer, so we only list the answers that will increase your trust.
There are still a few trust events missing as we are still working on resolving them all(It’s a lot of trial and error with a daily limit, so it takes us some time.) We’ll update this guide with more answers to trust events as we find them.
God Finger (Sixth Street)
If Ellen asks, “May I ask… When was the last time you weighed yourself?” respond with, “Not so long agofor an increase in confidence.
Hotpot restaurant (Lumina Square)
Your answers here don’t matter until the last prompt, where she says “…”, in which case you should answer with “I just did what you said…“to increase confidence.

Home Improvement Store (Sixth Street)
Ellen will be talking about giving a gift. Only the second prompt matters. If she says, “Otherwise… wouldn’t it be strange if I’ve never given you anything, even though we’re friends?” respond with “Thank you, Ellen“for an increase in confidence.
Waterfall Soup (Lumina Square)
Outside Waterfall Soup, Ellen is being swarmed by girls asking for pictures. When she says “Yaaay…!” hit her back with another “Yeah!“for a significant increase in confidence. The answers below do not matter.
Lumina Galleria (Lumina Square)
Ellen will be standing in front of the mall in Lumina Square. She will ask, “Proxy… When was the last time you went to karaoke?”, to which you must respond, “Recentlyfor an increase in confidence.
Ellen Trust Invite best answers in Zenless Zone Zero
If you DM Ellen, you can meet her at four locations on Sixth Street. This will definitely increase your trust, but specific answers will earn you extra points.
‘Time! To! Choose!’ (Waterfall Soup) best answers
When Ellen asks, “What kind of soup are you going to get?” you’ll get a significant boost in confidence if you choose “Ice noodle broth.” The other options just give you a normal trust increase. You also get an extra trust increase at the end of the conversation.

‘Do Shark Thirens need two tickets?’ (404 Live) best answers
There are two signals from this conversation that increase trust, but neither is significant.
The first prompt is the only choice: “Would you like to keep it calm?”, which will increase your confidence.
The second prompt is when she says, “I knew I should have bought an extra ticket…” It doesn’t matter which option you choose – either “You could have put your tail next to me” or “I could have cuddled your tail for you.”“ gives you a significant boost in confidence after the cutscene ends.
‘Are These Really Regular Snacks?’ (141 Convenience) Best Answers
None of the choices matter until you have to recommend snacks.
When Ellen asks, “Oh, so… do you have any snack tips?” you should… recommend a delicious snack for an immediate trust boost. After the interaction is over, you will get another trust boost (even if you tell her to eat a suspicious snack).

When Ellen asks, “What’s your password?”, answer with, “i thought you knew thatfor an increase in confidence.
The rest of the answers don’t matter because you will gain a significant sense of trust at the end of the conversation anyway.
