Donald Trump wants to give golf legend Sir Nick Faldo a job in the White House if he is elected president in November, the Republican presidential candidate has said.

Trump was very enthusiastic about the British golf champion during a campaign rally in Bozeman, Montana. During his attendance at Trump’s event, he said Faldo was “a good friend of mine.”

During Friday’s rally, Trump addressed the retired athlete and praised his golf skills to the crowd.

“He could take people with him, he played the best players in the world, and they always gave up for him. I even think I should bring him into the government, because we like other people to give up.”

The former president then pointed to Sir Faldo and said: ‘That man can play golf… He’s won six majors and a lot of tournaments and he’s one of the best golfers ever.’

Although Faldo is from Hertfordshire, England, he appears to have been interested in Republican politics since marrying his fourth wife, American former topless dancer Lindsay De Marco, in 2020.

De Marco, 61, a MAGA fanatic who was appointed Mrs Conservative US in 2012, is a loyal Trump supporter.

On Friday, she and her husband attended Trump’s rally in Montana, where they were seen chatting with the former president

She regularly shares her support for Trump on social media. Last month, she posted an image on Instagram of a red MAGA hat with a halo around it.

After Trump survived an assassination attempt on July 13, she posted a photo of Trump with the caption, “This is the only man I want leading our country!”

On Friday, she and her husband attended Trump’s rally in Montana, where they were spotted chatting with the former president.

The couple lives on a ranch in Montana, near Bozeman, where Trump’s rally took place.

They moved in 2022, after Sir Faldo announced he was stepping down from full-time commentating to spend more time with his wife.

The couple purchased a 125-acre ranch in 2020 and subsequently began building a new farm called Faldo Farm.

They met in 2018 and married two years later in the Florida Keys.

One of De Marco’s ex-husbands, Randy Heine, said of the wedding that the couple were “golf’s answer to Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor.”

He also said, “Lindsay has enough husbands that we can all be masters of ceremonies at the wedding,” referring to her six previous marriages.

Heine claimed that his ex-wife was a topless dancer, which was supported by a former manager of a bar where she worked. However, she has denied this.

She later worked as a manager for one of Heine’s companies, which was raided by drug agents.

Lindsay pleaded guilty and was given a $250 fine and six months’ probation, but two years later she took a deal and pleaded guilty to the charge of “using interstate transportation to transport drug paraphernalia.”

She was sentenced to six months of house arrest.

The golfer himself has had three previous marriages.

Faldo divorced his first wife Melanie Rockall when she discovered he was having an affair with his manager’s secretary, Gill Bennett.

The golfer later married Bennett, but their relationship ended when he had an affair with 20-year-old American golf student Brenna Cepelak.

The three-year affair ended when he met Valerie Bercher and the jilted Cepelak smashed Sir Nick’s Porsche with a golf club, reportedly causing £10,000 worth of damage.
