2024 Logie Awards: The stars that won’t be attending the ceremony are revealed… as Ada Nicodemou and James Stewart plan red carpet ‘hard launch’

    But not all the stars will be in attendance at the 2024 Logie Awards on Sunday night, with some celebrities choosing to skip the event.

    According to today’s show’s reporter Karl Stefanovic, he won’t be there as he is celebrating his 50th birthday in Sydney. The Daily Telegraph.

    Channel Seven star David Koch, whose contract with the network is reportedly expiring, and Mark Ferguson, who is believed to be stepping down from his newsroom role, are also skipping the event.

    Lisa Wilkinson will not appear following her controversial 2022 Logies speech in which she named alleged rape victim Brittany Higgins.

    Kerri-Anne Kennerley, Australian Idol’s Ricki Lee-Coulter and Sylvia Jeffreys are also skipping the Logie Awards ceremony.

    Meanwhile, Ada Nicodemou and James Stewart are reportedly planning to make their “hard launch” on the red carpet.

    Their romance was revealed by their lingering Anzac Day kiss after Ada split from her ex-partner Adam Rigby just before Christmas last year and James finalised his divorce from Sarah Roberts in March.

    Comedian Sam Pang will host the awards ceremony.

    “It was a wonderful experience hosting the Logies last year and I look forward to returning in 2024,” Sam said in a statement in June.

    Andy Lee, Asher Keddie, Julia Morris, Larry Emdur, Robert Irwin, Sonia Kruger and Tony Armstrong compete for the Gold Logie.

    Last year, after making his debut at the awards, Pang was named one of the best Logies hosts in a long time.

    His sharp jokes during the Logies concerned well-known targets such as Channel Stefanovic and Koch.

    Channel Seven’s broadcast of Logies was a ratings hit for the network, attracting a massive 877,000 viewers.

    Fans are grateful to Sam for the show’s success, with many watching the Logies for the first time, only to see him as the host.

    He was a huge hit with viewers thanks to his fiery jokes, which tackled everything from crude reality TV to the scandalous private lives of celebrities.

    Sam’s opening monologue included a dig at Married at First Sight, saying the controversial reality show was “a clear sign that we’re not going to make it as a species.”

    He also joked about the lack of diversity in commercial television: ‘I’m the first presenter in the history of the Logies to present half Channel Seven and half Channel Ten.’
