Sports stars react to Biden dropping out of 2024 race: Ryan Garcia blasts POTUS’ support for Kamala ‘Harrison’ as Angel Reese wonders ‘wait what’s going on?’

Ryan Garcia and Angel Reese were among the few athletes who publicly responded to Joe Biden’s decision to withdraw from the 2024 U.S. presidential election. Yet neither came across as experts on politics.

The WNBA rookie All-Star didn’t pretend to know anything about Biden’s decision. Instead, Reese publicly wondered to X, “Wait, what happens next….”

Her fans had no problem with her unfamiliarity with the subject, and one even asked her to throw her hat into the ring.

“Can you run for president,” the fan asked the Chicago Sky power forward. “We’d all vote for you, queen.”

Garcia, on the other hand, had much more to say on the subject. The troubled boxer opposed Biden’s endorsement of Vice President Kamala “Harrison” and continued to support challenger Donald Trump.

“I can’t wait to beat Donald Trump,” began one nonsensical post on X.

“Destroy Kamala Harris,” he continued, this time spelling the vice president’s last name correctly.

    ‘In the debate.’

Garcia’s three-line message resembled a haiku, but without the strict 5-7-5 syllable structure.

And Garcia wasn’t just active on social media on Sunday. The boxer, who was suspended by New York State for failing a steroid test and the WBC for using racist language, also discussed his faith with the public.

“Right now it’s street preaching,” he wrote.

He also cited a passage from the Bible, 1 Corinthians 14:34, which argues against women speaking in church.

Garcia agreed, writing, “Women should not speak in church.”

The 25-year-old claimed earlier this month that he was checking into rehab to tackle his drug addiction, but he continued to behave erratically online.

But he wasn’t the only Biden critic to criticize the president’s decision to withdraw from the race on Sunday.

Former American soccer star and current Fox Sports analyst Alexi Lalas accused Biden of backing out of self-preservation.

When a social media activist called Biden a “modern-day hero” for leaving office, Lalas called the president a “self-interested politician.”

And when someone claimed that “resigning is the least selfish thing a politician can do,” Lalas had an answer for him too.

“Not when that politician is headed for a historic loss that would tarnish his legacy and he is offered a golden parachute,” Lalas wrote back.
