Uruguay’s defeat to Colombia in the Copa America semi-final ended in particularly ugly fashion, when Darwin Nunez and Ronald Araujo clashed with fans in the stands after the match.
The Liverpool forward, who endured a frustrating night in front of goal, was seen in a video throwing punches after the 1-0 defeat.
The footage shows a Colombian fan throwing a drink at Nunez and his Uruguayan teammates, while José Gimenez and Araujo also scuffle with supporters.
The defender would said After the game, it was reported on TV that the players’ families, who were sitting close to the fans, were being swarmed by supporters.
“This is a disaster, our families are in danger,” he said. “Not a single police officer.”
