A motorcyclist suffered severe injuries early yesterday, July 8, after losing consciousness and crashing into a power pole on Pattaya’s Sukhumvit Road.
The accident took place at approximately 12.30am on Soi Sukhumvit 61/1 in the Nong Prue subdistrict, Bang Lamung district, Chon Buri province. The Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Rescue Foundation quickly dispatched a team to the scene following a notification about the incident.
Rescue workers discovered a white Honda PCX motorcycle that had collided with a utility pole, leaving the front of the vehicle heavily damaged. The unconscious male driver, estimated to be between 18 and 20 years old, was found nearby with a significant facial laceration. He was not carrying any identification documents.
A 21 year old woman, Sorasicha Krasang, who rode as a passenger on the motorcycle, also sustained injuries in the crash. She suffered a minor laceration on her left arm and abrasions on her body.
The rescue team administered first aid to both individuals before transporting them to a local hospital for further medical attention.
“We were heading to South Pattaya when the driver suddenly lost consciousness and swerved off the road. We hit a roadside barrier and then crashed into the power pole.”
Pattaya police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident and will interview the driver once he has recovered, reported Pattaya News.
In related news, two Myanmar nationals, riding motorcycles at high speed, lost control and crashed into a lamppost, resulting in serious injury and death. The incident occurred on July 4 at 3.50pm on a road in Ratchaburi.
In other news, a noodle vendor in Lampang suffered severe injuries after her motorcycle lost control and crashed while she was on her way to the market to buy ingredients. The accident left her unconscious with scattered ingredients on the road.
Police from Thoen Police Station responded to a report of a self-inflicted motorcycle accident near Thoen Vocational College on the Thoen-Thung Saliam route in Mae Pa, Thoen district, Lampang province.
