Manchester United have reportedly reached an agreement with Manuel Ugarte over a transfer to the club.

United are keen to continue signing players from the French top flight after announcing the arrival of Leny Yoro, and now they are also looking to bring in Ugarte.

The Uruguayan midfielder shares the same agent as Yoro – Jorge Mendes – and contract terms have been agreed, with Ugarte willing to make the move even without United being able to offer Champions League football, as reported by Fabrizio Romano.

However, Mail Sport has learned that there is currently no agreement between the two clubs and that PSG will not sell the player for less than £59million.

The 23-year-old left Sporting Lisbon for Paris last summer for £42m, after PSG were hesitant to sell a player who fit the club’s profile: building a younger team without superstars.

Negotiations between the two clubs are still ongoing, but are currently at an early stage, despite the developments on a personal level between the parties involved.

Another stumbling block for United and their new INEOS recruitment team could be competition from other European and Premier League clubs showing strong interest.

Bayern Munich have enquired about the rising star’s availability, while two Italian clubs and one Premier League club have contacted PSG over a possible deal.

In addition, United will likely have to sell another midfielder before they can bring in Ugarte as the latest addition to Erik ten Hag’s squad.

Scott McTominay, who scored 10 goals in all competitions for the club last season, is one of the players who could make way for Ugarte’s arrival.

Experienced Brazilian midfielder Casemiro could also leave after a difficult second season at Old Trafford as United finished eighth in the Premier League.

Meanwhile, United have been one of the Premier League’s busiest recruiters during the off-season, with deals already completed for Yoro and Joshua Zirkzee.

Announcing Yoro’s arrival from Lille on Thursday, the 18-year-old said: ‘It is an incredible honour to sign for a club with the stature and ambition of Manchester United so early in my career.

‘From my first conversations with the club, they have set out a clear plan for how I can develop in Manchester as part of this exciting project. They have also taken great care of me and my family.’
