Larry Emdur admits to ‘disliking’ Rove McManus in shock radio interview as he reignites their ‘feud’

An old 'feud' between The Morning Show host Larry Emdur and TV veteran Rove McManus has flared up

Morning Show host Larry Emdur has rekindled an old feud with TV veteran Rove McManus.

The 50-year-old Gold Logie favourite admitted he ‘didn’t like’ Rove during an appearance on 2Day’s programme Hughesy, Ed and Erin to be seen on Wednesday.

Larry made this confession when he was challenged to take a lie detector test.

Host Dave “Hughesy” Hughes began the segment by reminding Larry that he’s had “infamous” run-ins with Rove, 50, over the years.

When Larry asked the Channel Seven star if he “didn’t like” Rove, he replied resolutely, “No.”

But unfortunately for Larry, the lie detector came back with a definitive “Yes.”

After failing the test a second time, Larry continued to insist, “I love Rove.”

Later in the segment, Larry claimed that he failed the lie detector because there was something wrong with the machine.

“I think the machine was broken,” he joked. “Did you buy it second-hand on Gumtree somewhere?”

“No, look, I love Rove. I love all his Instagram posts. That’s love,” he continued.

He then explained that the gaffe may have been the result of Larry footing Rove’s bill after the two had recently spent a night out together.

“You know what I think happened is Rove and I had dinner about a month ago and you know, those QR codes [used to pay the tab]’?

“There was no way to split the bill and I think there was some resentment,” he joked.

Dave admitted that he tried to get Rove involved in the segment to get him to respond.

But the media veteran refused after arriving back in the country from abroad the night before.

“That’s not really a good excuse,” Larry replied, adding, “I think there’s a problem now.

‘He [Rove] loves the Irwin family and of course young Robert [Irwin] is eligible for a Logie in the same category as me.

“I suspect Rove is in some trouble right now.”

Larry and Rove have been friends for over a decade and often joke around with each other.

In 2016, Rove challenged the Channel Seven personality to a sparring match on his 2Day FM morning show, pitting them against each other over three rounds on the station’s rooftop.

The match, which Larry won, was seen as the only way to end the long-running, ironic ‘feud’ between the two.

Rove rose to fame in 1999 with his eponymous talk show on Channel Nine. His company Roving Enterprises currently produces The Project on Channel 10.
