Kate and Rio have a son Cree and a daughter Shae, who celebrated her first birthday this month.
Kate is stepmother to Rio’s children Lorenz (18), Tate (15) and Tia, from his first wife Rebecca Ellison, who tragically passed away in 2015 after a short battle with breast cancer.
This happened after Kate enthusiastically talked about the ‘beautiful bond’ she had built with her stepdaughter Tia.
The TV personality shared a cute video of the pair running hand in hand along the beach, saying she “couldn’t imagine life” without her.
Kate captioned the video: ‘It can be hard starting out as a stepmother to a young girl who has lost her mother, but through the years, the ups and downs, the judgements of others, the beautiful and the confusing moments, a beautiful bond has been formed.
“It’s a privilege to care for you like a mother would. We drive each other crazy sometimes, but we also can’t imagine life without each other.
“As long as we get ourselves, no one else needs to get it. This is an extra special love and it is truly unconditional.”
Kate admitted, “I keep watching this and crying,” she responded to comments on her video.
