Hundreds of people have criticized a mother’s refrigerator and raised questions about two items stored in the kitchen appliance.
Ella from Queensland searched online for organization tips and asked what affordable products she could buy to better organize her shelves.
“Show me how you organize your fridge. Extra curious to see who uses the plastic decision makers. I want to get to know them but I have no inspiration,” she captioned an image.
But she got more than she bargained for, as a few people wondered why she put the bread in the fridge instead of the cupboard.
A chef also warned that meat products should not be stored above fresh produce as the meat can leak and contaminate the food.
“May I suggest you keep your meat on the bottom shelf instead of the vegetables? I’m a chef and it can be dangerous if it leaks into your fresh produce,” she wrote.
The refrigerator itself looked neat and was stocked with fruits, vegetables, eggs, chicken, yogurt and other groceries.
There was also a discussion about where bread should be stored.
Queensland mum Ella shared a photo of the inside of her fridge (pictured), but many pointed out two issues: meat is stored above fresh produce and bread is stored in the appliance and not in the cupboard.
“You shouldn’t keep bread in the refrigerator,” someone said.
Others disagreed, claiming that food will go moldy after just two days if stored in a humid environment.
“I assume you don’t live in Queensland so staying on the couch isn’t an option for us,” said someone else.
“Humidity and heat cause bread to mold very quickly,” someone else wrote.
Another added: ‘I live on the central coast of NSW and in the summer our bread has to be in the fridge. Otherwise it goes mouldy within two days. In the colder months it lives on the couch. Shop bought.’
Last year, the mother of Australia’s largest family shared a photo of her fridge after cleaning it out, but fans can’t get over the fact that she keeps her peanut butter in the fridge instead of the cupboard.
Jeni Bonell and her husband Ray, from Queensland, have a huge family with nine sons and seven daughters.
The mother shared the photo of her refrigerator and wrote on Facebook: ‘Cleaning out the fridge today.’
She continues: ‘Refrigerators don’t have to be beautiful (although they are nice to look at and certainly aesthetically pleasing).
“Remember, they only need to be clean and functional. Their purpose is to store food, not to be Insta perfect.”
‘So wipe it down regularly, check the temperature, store food properly and make sure the door stays closed properly.’
