Banglamung District Chief Wikit Manarojkit led a meeting with village headmen and officials at the Bang Lamung District Office community hall. The focus was on reinforcing policies and guidelines to prevent gambling dens in the Banglamung area.
Chon Buri Province Governor Thawatchai Srithong stressed the importance of cracking down on illegal gambling activities. Local leaders, including kamnans and village headmen, have been urged to report any information related to gambling dens immediately. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary action.
During the meeting, a ceremony took place where the Banglamung emblem was decorated, and important documents were distributed to the village headmen and their assistants. Seven individuals were appointed, receiving support funds from the Rural Child Development Fund, which is under the Royal Patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.
The fund aims to support 40 children who are poor, needy, disadvantaged, disabled, or orphans. Each child will receive 1,500 baht (US$40), totalling 60,000 baht (US$1,630).
Additionally, the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, through the Department of Children and Youth Affairs, is encouraging cooperation in publicising the application process for receiving subsidy rights. This subsidy is intended to support newborn children aged zero to six years who live with low-income parents.
Eligible households with an average income not exceeding 100,000 baht (US$2,700) per person per year since fiscal year 2016 can apply for a monthly subsidy of 600 baht (US$600) per child, reported The Pattaya News.
Registration can be done at various locations, including the registration unit in Bangkok, Pattaya City Hall, subdistrict administrative organisations, and local municipalities, as well as through the ThaiD app.
In related news, the Thai government took assertive action against online gambling websites, recognising them as significant economic crimes. Deputy Government spokesperson Kanika Aunjit announced the policy on March 31, revealing the government’s commitment to investigating, suspending, restricting, and blocking such websites nationwide.
