PHOENIX — Temporary election worker accused of computer manipulation in Arizona’s largest county has been charged with even more crimes.

Walter Ringfield was charged with third-degree burglary and trespassing after prosecutors said he stole several items while walking through a secured area of the Arizona legislature on June 15, according to a criminal complaint filed last week.

Ringfield had previously been charged with computer tampering after surveillance footage caught him on June 20 taking a security key from a desk that would have given him access to voting machines in Maricopa County. He was arrested the next day at his Phoenix home after election workers realized one of the keys was missing.

Ringfield also faces a theft charge after prosecutors allege he stole $9,500 worth of vintage jewelry from mannequins at the Phoenix Art Museum on May 20.

The Associated Press left telephone and email messages Tuesday afternoon for Brian Body, an attorney representing Ringfield in the three cases.
