This Morning presenter Alison Hammond was left emotional during Monday’s episode when she was shown an old clip of her late mother.
The 49-year-old TV personality was left emotional after entertainment reporter Jordan North showed a throwback clip of Alison performing on Stars in Their Eyes, following rumours that The Voice would be returning with a special celebrity edition.
But when Alison was dressed as Nina Simone in the clip, she was shocked to see her late mother in the audience, beaming with pride and cheering her performance.
As she was looking at her mother Maria, Alison said, ‘Oh look at my mother! Look at my mother. Oh, I love it, just for that part. Oh, you can see her jewelry and everything, it’s so weird.’
Maria died in January 2020 from lung and liver cancer, a few months before her father Clifford also passed away.

Alison announced on Twitter that her mother had passed away, writing that she was suffering from liver and lung cancer.
She shared photos of her beloved mother and wrote, ‘I am dedicating this Valentine’s card to my beautiful mother who sadly passed away from liver and lung cancer.
‘My family and I buried Mom yesterday in a beautiful ceremony. I’m sure she would have loved it.
‘RIP my best friend and Living Angel, please come into my dreams. ‘
In October 2019, Alison shared a rare photo of her mother on social media, in which she was seen with singer Jamelia.
She wrote: ‘A day out with mommy and me! Bumping into @officialjamelia at @jemz_nailz enjoying life! #moms.’
She also treated her mother to a trip to Jemz Nails nail salon in Birmingham.
Jamelia had written: ‘How nice to see you and your dear mother.’
But when the clip showed Alison dressed as Nina Simone, she was surprised to see her late mother beaming with pride in the audience and applauding her performance.
As she was looking at her mother Maria, Alison said, “Oh look at my mother! Look at my mother. Aw, I love it, just for that part. Oh, you can see her jewelry and everything, it’s so weird.”

The Big Brother star suffered a double tragedy in 2020 when her father Clifford, who lived in Jamaica, passed away just six months after the death of Alison’s mother.
Alison shared on social media that she wasn’t able to spend as much time with her father as she would have liked.
She said she was “saddened” that she could not attend Clifford’s funeral and was left with “a sense of loss and emptiness.”
