Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Residents running away as drug cartel take over Tila, Chiapas, in Mexico.
Hundreds of residents of Tila took advantage of the arrival of approximately 500 uniformed members of the Army and National Guard to that municipality in the Tzeltal Tulijá Chol region of Chiapas to flee their towns, after four days of violence by criminal groups that burned houses and vehicles, and executed at least seven people.
According to complaints from the “Digna Ochoa” Human Rights Committee, more than 500 people have had to leave their homes and are now seeking safe refuge in shelters in the same municipality and in nearby municipalities such as Yajalón.
Some of those who left Tila arrived at shelters, one of them is located in the Community Development Center and another on the soccer field, in the municipality of Yajalón , where the authorities request donations of groceries and basic necessities to support to the displaced.
The displaced, including girls, boys, adolescents, men, women and older adults, were also transported by vehicles to a shelter located in Petalcingo, one of the largest communities in the municipality of Tila.
Residents and parishioners of the Señora de la Misericordia parish, in the municipal seat of Sabanilla, installed a food collection center, so they invited the population to join and bring donations of bottled water, rice, beans, clothing in good condition, feminine pads, medicines, toys, diapers for children and adults, as well as canned food, toilet paper, pozol, even prepared food that will be delivered to the displaced people of Tila.
Parishioners from the municipalities of Ocosingo and Altamirano have also joined together to support people affected by violence. They invite the entire community and towns to go to the parishes of each municipality to bring their donations since the displaced are suffering from hunger and in the face of this heat wave, they need bottled water to avoid dehydration.
