A university student from a renowned institution was involved in a hit-and-run accident while riding her motorcycle to class, leaving her unconscious and with no memory of the incident. The only thing she could recall was riding from Samut Prakan to Chon Buri.
Suriya Phoomwat, Deputy Inspector (Investigation) at Bang Pakong Police Station, Chachoengsao Province, along with Chachoengsao rescue units, responded to a collision yesterday at 7.30am before the Khlong Om Bridge on Theparat Road (Bang Na-Trat) at kilometre 46, heading towards Chon Buri, in Bang Pakong Subdistrict, Bang Pakong District.
The authorities found 21 year old Nawaporn lying unconscious in the middle of the road with severe injuries. She was the rider of a grey Yamaha Filano motorcycle registered in Bangkok. Bystanders and rescue personnel provided first aid before transporting her to Bang Pakong Hospital for initial treatment. Nawaporn could not remember the incident but knew she was on her way to Burapha University in Chon Buri from Samut Prakan.
Nawaporn stated that she was riding her motorcycle from Samut Prakan to Chon Buri when she regained consciousness, though she could not recall any details of the accident.
Police are now working to determine whether there are any CCTV cameras in the area of the accident to identify and prosecute the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run.
The authorities are urging anyone who may have witnessed the accident to come forward with any information that could help identify the responsible party.
Suriya Phoomwat, who is leading the investigation, stated that police are checking for CCTV footage in the area to find the vehicle responsible for the collision, reported KhaoSod.
