The Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) company is the first railway network that connects the three countries of North America: Canada, the USA and Mexico , through two historic railways called Canadian Pacific (CP) and Kansas City Southern (KCS) since its Founded in the 19th century.
For the Final Spike anniversary, Canadian Pacific Kansas City announced a historic steam tour in 11 different cities in North America. This trip began on April 24 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and will end on June 7 in Mexico City .
The objective of the tour is to show the life of the CPKC railway, and the projects it brings to the future for people interested in railways and those who are curious about them, while they are inside the Emperatriz 2816 locomotive.
“This special journey across the continent of steam locomotive 2816 serves to remember our past and celebrate our future. We are delighted to share this extraordinary experience with communities across our network as we mark one year into our CPKC journey. “The Final Spike anniversary steam tour will be North America’s first steam passenger train traveling through Canada, the U.S. and Mexico in a single trip,” said CPKC CEO Keith Creel.
The Empress began her journey on April 24 in Calgary, Alberta in Canada to follow a route that brought her to Mexico City on June 4. Below we present the cities where this locomotive was present.
