Tom Brady’s niece Maya struggled Saturday in the women’s College World Series home game as Oklahoma edged past UCLA 1-0.

Maya, a shortstop, struckout three batters and went 0-4 at home on a tough day for the Bruins.

The match was not an elimination match for UCLA, although their path to a national championship is certainly more difficult.

Maya was born to Maureen Brady – Tom’s sister – and Brian Timmons.

Maureen was an All-American pitcher at Fresno State and Maya’s aunt, Julie Brady, is married to two-time World Series winner Kevin Youkilis, who won both of his titles with the Boston Red Sox.

Tiare Jennings’ solo homer in the third inning accounted for all the scoring for the second-seeded Sooners (56-6).

Freshman Kaitlyn Terry and sophomore Taylor Tinsley combined for just four goals for No. 6 UCLA, which saw its winning streak end at 14 games. The Bruins (43-11) will play Stanford in an elimination game on Sunday.
