Footage has emerged of Ryder Cup star Ian Poulter launching a foul-mouthed tirade at a fan during the final round of LIV Houston on Sunday.

Poulter, who reached a world No. 5 ranking in 2010 and was part of five Ryder Cup-winning teams, defected to LIV Golf in 2022, leading to his PGA Tour and European Tour memberships being suspended.

He competed in their final event in the US this weekend, but failed to keep a cool head with one fan on the final day as he shot a seven-over par round of 79.

As he walked to his golf cart, Poulter turned to the fan and asked him angrily, “Why don’t you hit the road?”

“You were fucking croaking on the 18th tee, so fuck it.”

The fan seemed surprised and replied “just relax” as he tried to defuse the tension, but Poulter was in no mood to shut up.

The Brit continued: ‘Shut up. You didn’t say hello and you didn’t say it on the 18th tee. So I suggest you keep your mouth shut.”

As the golf cart with Poulter drove away, he told officials, “Next time he’ll be gone.”

Poulter was in a similarly bad mood last week when he raged at British Airways for losing his clubs at Heathrow on his way to play in Houston, Texas.

He took to Instagram mid-flight and posted: ‘FFS @British_Airways so disappointing. I checked in 2 hours and 30 minutes before the flight. What could be the excuse?

‘I just received the email three hours after the flight. I wouldn’t have bothered flying if you didn’t send my golf clubs. I can’t breathe fresh air.’

In a separate message he added: ‘Talk about p***ed off @British_Airways.

‘The golf bag wasn’t too heavy. I took it too big, scanned it and saw it go along the belt. #Miserable.’

He later claimed that co-star Henrik Stenson’s bag was also left behind while he followed their luggage onto the plane.

‘@British_Airways Just for the record: there are also golf clubs from @henrikstenson. You might as well find it while you’re looking for mine. The only thing y’all are really good at is charging to fly,” Poulter wrote.
