Naomi Campbell’s ‘feud’ with Linda Evangelista: Models ‘can’t bear to be in the same room’ and unfollow each other on social media

Naomi Campbell and Linda Evangelista are reportedly embroiled in a feud and can no longer bear to be in the same room with each other.

The pair, along with Cindy Crawford, Christy Turlington and Claudia Schiffer, were part of the original crop of supermodels who dominated the catwalk in the 1990s.

But it seems things have turned sour between Naomi, 54, and Linda, 59, who have unfollowed each other on Instagram and are currently avoiding each other at fashion shows.

Rumors of a breakup first started in September 2023, when Naomi and Linda paraded the Vogue World runway with Christy and Cindy.

Eagle-eyed fans noticed that when Naomi posted the moment they were all on stage together, she didn’t tag Linda, but she did tag Christy and Cindy.

Later that same month, during Milan Fashion Week, the pair, who have been close in recent years, sat five seats apart at Fendi’s spring/summer show.

Naomi sat next to her good friend Kate Moss and actress Demi Moore, while Linda sat between model Suki Waterhouse and actress Naomi Watts.

In an interview with The standardNaomi did not mention Linda by name, but did suggest that she is disappointed in someone who has shown “ungratefulness.”

She said: ‘Insincerity makes me angry, and ingratitude. Especially when you know you’ve gone out of your way to really help someone, and they can’t thank you. Not a simple thank you. It’s not so much anger as it is great disappointment.’

When the journalist asked Naomi if she was talking about anyone in particular, she replied: “Correct.”

The publication even went so far as to say that the women “can’t stand each other” at the moment.

MailOnline has contacted representatives for Naomi and Linda for comment.

Last year, Naomi and Linda both appeared on AppleTV+’s series The Supermodels, which focused on the top models of the 1990s.

To promote the show, they appeared together with Cindy and Christy on the cover of Vogue in August 2023.

“There was a sisterhood there, marked by caring and loyalty,” Naomi told the publication. ‘When one is down, you pick up the other.’

There was not always animosity between the couple. Naomi has previously credited Linda and Christy for telling Dolce & Gabbana, “If you’re not using Naomi, you’re not using us,” when she was an emerging model in the late ’80s.

In 2022, Linda shared an Instagram post wishing Naomi a happy birthday, along with a photo of them from the ’90s.

She wrote: ‘Happiest birthday my Omi. I love you, I love you, I love you #family @naomi’.

In 2021, when Linda opened up about her CoolSculpting ordeal that left her “brutally disfigured” and saw her step out of the public eye for years, Naomi was among those who praised her for speaking out.

She wrote: ‘Elos, I applaud you for your courage and strength to share your experiences and not be held hostage by them anymore. You know that I love you…

‘We love you and are always here for you. Right by your side.. I can’t imagine the pain you have gone through mentally for the past 5 years, you are now free from it…

“Remember who you are, what you accomplished and your influence and all the people’s lives you touched, and continue to do so to this day by sharing your story. I am proud of you and will support you every step of the way.”

Linda began modeling at the age of 16 when she entered the Miss Teen Niagara beauty pageant where she was spotted by a representative from Elite Model Management.

Her unique and versatile looks helped Linda land a large number of modeling jobs and quickly became one of the highest paid models in the industry.

She became famous for her — oft-misquoted — comment in a 1990 Vogue interview in which she said, “We have this saying, Christy [Turlington] and I…we don’t wake up on less than $10,000 a day.”

Naomi’s modeling career began when she was scouted as a 15-year-old by Beth Boldt, head of the Synchro Model Agency, while shopping in Covent Garden.

Her career took off quickly and just before her 16th birthday she appeared on the cover of British Elle.

She went on to model for the world’s top designers and also became the first black woman to appear on the cover of Vogue France and the famous September issue of American Vogue.
