Charlie Sheen’s ex-wife Brooke Mueller reportedly had a “romantic relationship” with Matthew Perry almost two decades ago.
The claim comes amid reports that the actress, 46, was reportedly being questioned by authorities over the late Friends star’s fatal overdose.
This week, allegations surfaced that Mueller was questioned “multiple times” by the LAPD in connection with Perry’s death last year from the “acute effects of ketamine.”

Now, Perry’s ex-girlfriend, Kayti Edwards, has claimed that she and Mueller dated him at the same time after meeting in Alcoholics Anonymous.

“Brooke started dating Matthew in 2006, around the time I first started seeing Matthew,” Edwards, 48, said. The American Sun – adding that she believes Perry and Mueller “reconnected” in his final years.
“They certainly didn’t first meet in rehab, we all met in AA in 2006,” said Edwards, who later worked as Perry’s assistant in 2010 and 2011.
“She and I had him at the same time, there was no girlfriend-boyfriend relationship – we were just dating,” she continued.
“He took me out on dates and he took her out on dates. It was kind of this thing, like, ‘Are you going out with Brooke tonight?’ It was back and forth between her and I, but they were definitely romantically involved.”
She described Mueller as “my rival,” adding: “I knew her and I’m sure she knew me. We were hanging out with Matthew, having a relationship with him and it wasn’t really a problem.”
Edwards, Julie Andrews’ step-granddaughter, recalled: “It probably lasted three months because that’s what he and I were. Me and Brooke and I never went out publicly and looked romantic, it was always at his house.”
Later in 2006, Mueller was introduced to Charlie Sheen, whom she became engaged to the following year and eventually married in 2008.
“When I started working for Matthew in 2010, I actually asked about her and if he was still talking to Brooke and what he thought about her being with Charlie,” Edwards claimed. “He said he wasn’t surprised because that’s who she was. She was trying to get an actor with money, so he wasn’t surprised.”
Edwards added: “That’s what she wanted, that lifestyle of getting married and having kids with an actor, and I don’t think Matthew would ever give her that.”

She went on to speculate that they may have “reconnected more recently, in the last two years or so,” if she “had to guess.”
Edwards explained: ‘She was sober when she started dating Matthew in 2006, because he was sober then. It’s possible that she went off the rails after Charlie and they met again in rehab. I don’t think I ever asked, but if they had been together I’m sure he would have said, “Guess who I met?”‘
The allegations surfaced after it emerged that Mueller had been questioned by authorities about Perry, who was found dead in his hot tub last October.
“She has hired attorneys and has had multiple encounters with law enforcement since they arrived at her sober living home with a search warrant. She remains tight-lipped about the situation,” a source explained.
This development follows a separate report that said investigators could charge “several people” in connection with the actor’s death. DailyMail.com has contacted Mueller for comment on this story.

Mueller has had several substance abuse issues over the years. In July 2011 she underwent a rehabilitation program. Two years later, her children were removed from her home due to suspected drug use. At that time, Mueller entered rehab again.

Her last public rehab stint took place in August 2019. Between 2008 and 2011, Mueller was married to actor Charlie Sheen. The couple has two sons together, Bob and Max. Their divorce came amid allegations of domestic violence on Sheen’s part.
Perry’s death in October 2023 at the age of 54 shocked the world. The beloved Friends star was unconscious in his hot tub at his Los Angeles home. An autopsy attributed his death to the “acute effects of ketamine.”
The amount of ketamine in his blood was within the range used for general anesthesia during surgery. It was listed as the primary cause of death, which was ruled an accident with no suspicion of foul play, the report said.
People close to the actor told coroner’s investigators that he was undergoing IV ketamine therapy. The decades-old surgical drug has seen a dramatic increase in use in recent years as a treatment for depression, anxiety and pain.
According to the InTouch report, investigators in the case seized a laptop and an iPhone belonging to Mueller.
An insider confirmed to InTouch that Mueller and Perry met during rehab. “They formed an unexpected friendship,” the friend said.
Perry said in 2022 that he had spent an estimated $9 million battling his addictions, across 15 rehab facilities.
In a report by People published Tuesday, a law enforcement investigative source said the investigation is now “nearing completion.”

The source did not clarify who the “several individuals” who may be charged are. He added that any future action will ultimately be determined by the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
However, in December last year, a medical expert speculated that the actor had ‘probably’ obtained ketamine illegally for ‘recreational use’.
Although Perry was undergoing ketamine treatment for anxiety and depression at the time of his death, the autopsy report stated that “the ketamine in his system at death could not have come from that infusion therapy.”
Working with the DEA and the US Postal Inspector, LAPD then began investigating the source of the ketamine that “ultimately played a role” in the actor’s death.
At the time, TMZ reported that an ongoing investigation was aimed at determining where the actor — who has battled alcoholism and drug addiction for years — obtained the ketamine.
“Police sources tell us that an investigation is underway into where Matthew obtained the ketamine that ultimately played a role in his death. The key questions are who supplied the drug and under what circumstances,” the outlet reported.
Sources also told the newspaper that “both local police and the DEA have been investigating this case for months, but it is unclear where investigators are exactly in the investigation.”
It was also revealed that they had already spoken to “several key figures in Hollywood” who “are known to have a history of drug use or abuse” because they “could have information that led to the source,” the report said.
A year before his death, he spoke openly about his struggles with addiction and described his journey to sobriety in his memoir Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing.
In the tell-all released in 2022, he claimed he was finally sober after multiple failed attempts to get clean, costing him $9 million personally.
Sources later told DailyMail.com that the ‘reclusive’ star had younger contacts on dating app Raya deliver drugs to his home, even while he was under the care of a nursing team 24/7.
Despite having a nursing team at his $6 million Pacific Palisades home and a sober companion living with him, Perry managed to steal drugs through casual contacts without realizing it, sources said in December 2023.
“He met girls on dating apps and invited them over,” insiders claimed.
“There was a whole bunch of 21- to 25-year-olds he would meet at Raya. They would bring drugs. It was mainly Oxycontin [a powerful opioid pain killer]. He also got drugs from old girlfriends, there was some kind of network,’ said a source.
The source added: ‘I think with [his memoir]Matthew thought it would help him to go to the place he described.
“He wrote about what he hoped the situation would be as if it were already there. He wrote the script he wanted.”
