Kourtney Kardashian revealed why she had to undergo emergency fetal surgery last summer on the most recent episode of Hulu’s The Kardashians.
The episode was filmed last fall and features the Lemme founder, 45, getting ready to give birth to Rocky Thirteen Barker, her son with Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker, 48.
“A few months ago we had a scare where I had to have emergency fetal surgery,” the Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum explained in a confessional.
The scene then cuts to the reality TV star recovering from surgery.
“Baby Rocky had to have fetal surgery because of fluid in his lungs,” she explained.

The episode was filmed last fall and features the Lemme founder, 45, getting ready to give birth to Rocky Thirteen Barker, her son with Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker, 48.
“And it’s super rare for this to happen [is] the condition he had, but it’s also super rare and lucky we caught him.
‘And thank you, God, for this successful operation. “I’m honestly so grateful, I have no words,” she said with relief.
The show then transitioned back to her in the confessional, where she continued to talk about how she felt during that scary time.
‘I was absolutely filled with fear after the surgery and the fluid in his lungs. Actually, it started coming back and then I watched the documentary Heal, which was all about the power of positive thinking and how our thinking can really impact our health,” she said.
“And then I started talking to the baby every day, saying my prayers, and after I had that change in mindset, the fluid was completely gone and we didn’t have any problem after that.”
In September, Kourtney wrote in an Instagram post about the relief she felt after the surgery was successful.
“As someone who has had three very easy pregnancies in the past, I was unprepared for the fear of having to undergo emergency fetal surgery,” she wrote.
“I don’t think anyone who hasn’t been through a similar situation can understand that feeling of fear.”

The show then cut back to her in the confessional, where she continued to talk about how she felt during that scary time
