    The much-loved Today Show host, 49, joined a vibrant mix of celebrities and sporting legends in the Mixed 6x50m Freestyle Celebrity Relay.

    Karl, known for his humor and enthusiasm, did not disappoint.

    Embracing the spirit of the event, he stated, “You’ve all heard of the Thorpedo, but now it’s time for the Karlnado.

    ‘Never before has swimming seen such a specimen. “I’m back at my home base in Queensland, which is always worth a few extra points, and I’ll be beating all challengers in my quest for gold.”

    After the race, he was seen lifting Jake up in celebration, epitomizing the joy and camaraderie that defined the event.

    Sylvia Jeffreys also brought her A-game.

    “My swimming career may have peaked in high school, where I finished seventh at district championships, but at 12 feet, I have built-in fins and I’m not afraid to use them,” she said that evening.

    The star-studded celebrity relay featured personalities from a range of fields, including NRL star Johnathan Thurston and surfing power couple Owen Wright and Kita Alexander.

    Other notable participants included sports commentator Clint Stanaway, beach volleyball champion Kerri Pottharst, Nitro Circus BMX rider Ryan Williams, rugby league great Sam Thaiday and Wallabies legend Drew Mitchell.

    Adding to the excitement were some of Australia’s most iconic swimming figures, including Susie O’Neill, Duncan Armstrong, Mack Horton, Jess Schipper, Jodie Henry and Justin Norris, to name a few.
